Ronin 500 point team!

The build, as provided by our Judge (paraphrased):

'500 points. Silver age. No Resources. Everything else is fine. All your characters who form your main force must be different interpretations of the same character. No limitations on sideline characters. Use your imagination. But try to make the link between your characters be more unified than just all being speedsters. Examples of teams I'd like to see are: Mirror-universe versions of certain characters (Superman and Ultraman), characters inspired by other characters (Superman and Mr. Majestic), characters with the same name (Superman and Superman II), characters with the same Real Name (Superman and Clark Kent).'

So, I tried to figure out a cool team. I thought of Thor, She Thor and Tanarus. I thought of Phoenix, Rachel Summers and Jean Grey. I thought of a pretty cool Captain America team and a Spider Man team but ended up running this team:

109 AVAS052 Ronin
94 AAOU009 Hawkeye
109 ASM032 Moon Knight
96 AVAS010 Echo
85 ASM004 Blade
493

It was actually a pretty fun team but ran into a team of Ms. Marvel, Genis Vell and Captain Marvel and their range plus pulse wave took my team out. Plus, my opponent rolled a ton of sixes....it was crazy.

Still, was a fun game and a fun team.

Fun 400 point team.

The build this week was 300 points, and it was for the Sinister Six OP kit. The Avengers table and ID cards were allowed, but no other relics resources were.

I was kind of lazy this week and didn't even know if I was going. I decided to go and sort of threw a team together.

I don't really like 300 point builds, I don't think there is enough room to build a good team and it really limits what figures you can use.

Back when the Guardians of the Galaxy set came out, I had used a couple of the figures together and they worked very well together. In face, I don't think they took any damage. I try (emphasis on 'try') to use new figures, but at least try to use a new figure on the team.

This are the two figures from the GOTG set:

POWER PRISM: When targeting a single character with an attack, increase Doctor Spectrum's attack value by the number of differently-colored standard powers on his target's dial.
ROKK: Give Doctor Spectrum a power action. If there's no friendly character named Rokk on the map, place a Rokk bystander token adjacent to Doctor Spectrum as described on this card. Each time Rokk is KO'd by an opposing character, 10 victory points are awarded to the active player. This ability cannot be ignored.
ENERGY CONSTRUCTS: Doctor Spectrum can use Barrier. Give Doctor Spectrum a free action and choose a standard attack power. Doctor Spectrum can use that power this turn.
So, for 137 points you get an insane attack value (when I use him, it's usually 13 or 14), 8 range pulse wave and a not too shabby 1 Defense with Invulnerabilty.

And honestly, I've never used his Rokk bystander.Nice figure but add him to a team with this guy:

INHUMAN HEALER: Thane can use Support. When he does he and/or the target may be adjacent to an opposing character. Once per game, Thane can use Pulse Wave as a free action. When you do, he can't use Support for the rest of the game.
RIGHT HAND: LIVING DEATH: Thane can use Incapacitate and when doing so gives a hit target two action tokens if it has no action tokens. A hit target can't be given free actions during its next turn.
LEFT HAND: BLACK OBLITERATION: Thane can use Penetrating/Psychic Blast. When he does, increase damage dealt to a hit character by 1 for each action token that character is assigned.

This guy is 115 points. With an 11 attack, 4 damage pen/psychic blast and three clicks of Invincible and a top click 18 Defense.

For 115 points. Oh, and a cool support power. That I've never needed to use....

So, I had a few points left and had never used this guy:

MUTANT REGISTRATION ACT: During your first turn, choose a keyword possessed by an opposing character for all friendly characters with this trait. As long as Senator Robert Kelly is on the map, opposing characters possessing the chosen keyword can't ignore pushing damage and can't use Outwit or Perplex if they have 2 action tokens. If Senator Robert Kelly is KO'd by an opposing character with the chosen keyword, all friendly characters with the chosen keyword are healed of 1 damage.

So, his special power is pretty cool. The best part of that special is that your opponent can not ignore pushing damage.

My first game was against the AOU Future Ultron and Future Ultron drone. They wandered in an Dr. Spectrum pulse waved Future Ultron for six, courtesy of two action tokens.

He gave up. I have never won a game on one attack.

The second match was against the LE Spider Man. The one with 19 defense plus +1 against ranged attacks. He also had the LE Superman, the one that looks like a construction worker :) and Jimmy Olsen.

This was a tough match and it ended when I finally was able to knock Spider Man off that insane Defense.

I won the tournament and got all three Sinister Six figures. Senator Kelly really came through in both games, taking away willpower is great!
