My team this week:

The build was 500 points, silver age, no resources/relics, must be a named theme team or a hero or villain team that appeared together in a comic book. 

I was trying to decide on a team and thought of running a SHIELD team or maybe a Hydra team, DP Wolverine, Agent of Hydra is a lot of fun, but was looking through my H/W list and saw GSX Colossus/Wolverine. This figure was involved in one of my first trades and it is still pretty powerful. The speedball special hits hard and hits twice.  So it was decided, I'm building an X-Men team.

I kept looking and found Professor X. Specifically the Professor X from the Monsters and Mutations set. Ever look at that guy?

I rounded out my team with DP Banshee and DOFP Nightcrawler.

It was funny, when we got ready to play, my opponent pulled out his team, with FI Father Odin (175 points), AVX (I think, too many Thors) Thor, HOT Asgardian Warrior and AVAS Loki. Odin gave a lot of bonuses and a 37 HOT Asgardian Warrior can be a damned scary thing to see coming your way.

He looked at my team and said 'Ha, Mutations Professor X? I don't need to see his card but let me see what Banshee does and doesn't that duo do something crazy?'

I handed over the cards and said 'You really ought to look at Professor X's card.' 

He laughed it off so I handed the Professor's card to our friend who was waiting to play next. His eyes got big and he turned to the other guy and said 'Yeah, you probably really want to take a look at the card...'.

I won't bore you with all of the details but I want to describe one move I accomplished.

Professor X perplexed my entire team's defense by one, mind controlled Thor and simply ran him 4 squares closer to Wolverine/Colossus. This was also within six squares of Banshee. So, Colossus threw Wolverine at Thor and hit for four, then Colossus punched him for three. So, one attack, 5 damage taken.

After the game my opponent wanted to good naturedly say he was overpowered but he just couldn't since it was from such an old set. 

Fun games, that Asgardian team was neat, never been so afraid of a 37 point figure but the bonuses he got from Odin was scary.
