Anticipation....

My wife and stepdaughter had to go out of town today and the two little kids are at their grandmothers, so I had a free evening and decided to swing by the local shop to pick up a card box for a trade I was offered and accepted.

And while I was there, I decided maybe I'd take a look at the boosters. You know, maybe one of them would jump out at me and scream 'CHASE!!'.

On the way to the shop, I was thinking that in all the boosters of the Spiderman set, I had not gotten any Spiderman Clix. I have pulled two super rare Madam Web, a super rare Manthing/ Howard the Duck etc, but no Spiderman, common or otherwise. I was not 100% sure I'd buy a booster since....oh who am I kidding, I knew I was going to buy one.

At the shop, I noticed a couple of Fast Forces sets and one or two starter sets that I had not noticed before. They were cool, but a big part of the fun for me is opening a set and seeing which Clix I had been lucky enough to get. Being able to see the Clix in the set is not as much fun for me as opening a booster.

There were three ASM boosters, so I picked one, it felt 'right'. I made it home and opened it up.

The first Clix I pulled was

I already have The Shocker but still have four Clix left, so I wasn't bummed too much. The next one was:

Ok, Dr. Strange. I have one of them, but it's ok, it is Dr. Strange. And I still have three more Clix. The next Heroclix in the booster was:

Well, 60% through the booster and I have all the Clix so far. I start to feel a little regret at picking up a booster. I don't need dupes. Maybe the fourth Clix will be a new one for me.

I have liked Electro ever since I first read about him way back when I was a kid. And his 'arc lightning' power ispretty cool to pull off in a game....but I have two of him already. I was starting to fill bummed out on this booster. With not much hope, I slid the set out of the box and saw:

YES! A CHASE! A SPIDERMAN CHASE!! Sorry, still a little excited. Glad I talked myself into buying a booster!
