Hi, welcome to my new blog. I have been playing Heroclix for a few months and have had a blast. So, what do you do when you have a fun hobby? You blog about it.....or, these days, you make a lot of really bad Youtube videos.
A year or so ago, one the website of the gaming group I am a member of, someone mentioned Heroclix and had a blog. I took a look and was intrigued. Tabletop gaming using superheros? Sounds good to me.
I posted an ad on Craigslist and was offered a ton of Heroclix for $20. I bought them and my son and I played a bit but didn't get too into it. The Clix were very old and we didn't have a rulebook. Other hobbies and activities popped up but I would sometimes think of the game and wish my son and I could get into it.
A few months later, there was a Sci Fi Convention here in town and the family (minus the 17 year old) went.It was actually pretty cool and at one of the booths, a guy had a large collection of Heroclix. I didn't buy it, but I decided to look into it some more.
I found the HCRealms website and a week later found an Avengers booster pack.Opened it and got a super rare Quicksilver.
My son was now a year older and was more interested in the game so with a little googling, I found a local shop that advertised Heroclix gaming every Saturday. My son and I went by and took a look at the Clix for sale and the owner came over and told us there was a game about to start. We went into the little gaming room and watched a game and had a lot of fun talking to the players and seeing their collections.
It looked like a lot of fun. We bought a booster of Amazing Spiderman and a couple of months later, here we are.
